Into the Mythic!
The world’s oldest stories are like venerable ancestors whose voices still speak, offering insights and strategies for dealing with contemporary issues and predicaments. Because myths describe great times of upheaval and change, they are especially relevant to us during times of radical change in our own world. Storyteller Will Hornyak will consider some ideas from mythologists Lewis Hyde, Joseph Campbell, Martin Shaw and Michael Meade about the vital nature of mythology and a “mythic sensitivity” to the world. We’ll discuss how various myths have shaped our lives and our own personal connection to mythology.
